Finally, a break in the insanity...
Mood:
celebratory
... well, it will be short-lived, but I'll enjoy it the best I can!
I finished the first of my two summer classes today -- Animal Behavior. I really enjoyed it, eventhough this past week was nuts (presentation, paper, write-up, final)... but I did learn a lot from the class. I'm hoping to integrate some of it into my current research, so we'll see how that goes.
Now I've got the weekend to relax a bit... sorta. I'm teaching swim lessons this afternoon & then guarding for about an hour. Then I'm going out w/ some of my grad school friends to celebrate one of them successfully defending her Master's thesis. Then I'm working at the Y 9:45am-2pm tomorrow. Then back here to chill for a bit & pack for the weekend, 'cuz I'm going to Ann Arbor Saturday night for Jayme's bachelorette party (yay!). I can't wait -- it's been way too long since I've had the chance to hang out with my Albion girls. Then on Sunday I'll be meeting Eric for lunch & spending the afternoon with him.
Then I'll have to get back Sunday evening 'cuz I start my next class on Monday -- Psychopharmacology.
On top of the classes & research, I'm also getting ready to move in a little less than a month from now. I'm excited about the move, but the process is going to be a bit of a pain. Oh well, it'll be worth it to have a bigger place with a bigger kitchen, a dishwasher, a balcony, away from noisy undergrads, and the ability to have a pet! I've already fallen for a wonderfully sweet cat at a local shelter, Millie. I really hope she's still available for adoption when I'm able to finally get her. If not, they have quite a few other adorable cats that need a good home, too.
Well, I need to get ready for my swim lessons -- wish me luck!
